Graduated from the University of Michigan in 1990, and he obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 1998. He has been an active trial attorney his entire career, focusing his practice on complex litigation in the areas of personal injury, medical and legal malpractice, labor and employment, products liability and divorce law. In the last three years alone he has had trials that resulted in verdicts on behalf of his clients in wrongful death, auto, employment, legal malpractice, and divorce cases. He prides himself as an aggressive attorney who truly cares about his clients and will stand up to insurance companies and big businesses.
Following a legal malpractice trial in the Fall of 2014, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Phyllis McMillen indicated in a written opinion that "Mr. Ebel's performance at the time of trial was one of the finest this Court has seen in years on the bench and 38 years as a member of the bar. He was extremely well organized and prepared, and in the end was able to secure a judgement for over $272,000."
Attended Olivet College in Olivet, Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and was a member of the college's Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) championship foot ball team. In 1989, he was inducted into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame in honor of his football career there.
After graduating from Olivet College, Mr. Ziem earned his law degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing. He was admitted to the Michigan bar in 1978 and served as Assistant Prosecutor for the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office before opening his own practice in 1979. Since then, he has focused on providing quality legal counsel to the people of Oakland County and the surrounding counties.
